SERVPRO® Named Top Franchise Opportunity in Restoration Services Category for the 15th Consecutive Year

4/26/2018 (Permalink)

Cleanup and restoration franchisor attains #12 ranking overall in Entrepreneur magazine’s 2018 Franchise 500 rankings

SERVPRO®, a cleanup and restoration franchise company, continues to dominate its segment of Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500 list, receiving top ranking in the Restoration Services industry for the 15th consecutive year. Sue Steen, SERVPRO Industries, Inc., chief executive officer, said the company also achieved the number 12 spot overall in the prestigious rankings, standing out in a record-breaking group of more than 1,020 franchises qualified for the 2018 list.

The purpose of the Franchise 500 list is to use objective and quantifiable measures of a franchise operation to help would-be entrepreneurs identify franchise investment opportunities. The evaluation process is based on what the magazine calls “The Five Pillars of the Franchise 500©”: Costs and Fees, Size and Growth, Support, Brand Strength, and Financial Strength and Stability.

“SERVPRO’s financial strength and stability, growth rate, and system size all contribute to the company’s success, and by extension to the success of its franchisees,” said Steen. “The commitment to excellence starts at the top and carries through to the service each franchisee provides to each and every customer.”

Steen says key differentiators set SERVPRO apart from the competition, making it a strong business opportunity for both existing franchisees and would-be entrepreneurs. Those differentiators are:

  • SERVPRO’s strength as a brand, enabling the company to form national partnerships with organizations like the PGA TOUR®.
  • SERVPRO’s commitment to being a learning organization, helping franchisees plan, track, and deliver best-in-class services to consumers.
  • SERVPRO’s focus on continued technological development and support, resulting in industry-leading proprietary software and systems.

“SERVPRO was founded in 1967 as a painting company. Today, we are a mature restoration services organization with more than 1,700 individually owned and operated locations under a single brand,” said Steen. “Our franchisees respond to property damage emergencies ranging from small individual disasters to multi-million dollar large-loss events. Maintaining our position for 15 consecutive years as the best franchise opportunity in our category on the Entrepreneur Franchise 500 list validates our long-standing strategy for growing our brand: invest in franchisee training and support, and commit resources to continually improving our infrastructure.”

Staying Safe This Holiday Season

11/29/2017 (Permalink)

Make sure that you are spreading these safety tips amongst your friends and family. On behalf of SERVPRO, happy holidays to all!

When the holiday season rolls around every year, people are often distracted with decorating, party planning, and gift giving. While November and December are certainly the months for giving holiday cheer more attention, keeping safety in the forefront of your mind is absolutely necessary. From distracted drivers to holiday decorations accidents, far too many injuries occur during this time of the year. In fact, thousands of emergency room visits occur every year during the holiday months, accounting for things like back strains, falls, and lacerations. While rare, around 200 tree-related fires occur each year, causing property damage and fatalities across the country.

Keeping your home a safe and happy place during the 2017 holiday season is imperative. Decorations like candles, trees, ornaments, and lights are all potential hazards to your home’s safety. Keep these tips in mind while making decorating your home this year:

  • Multiple extension cords should never be strung together
  • Check your smoke alarms for proper functioning
  • If you have a live Christmas tree, be sure to water it each day
  • Never run your extension cords under carpeting, furniture, or rugs
  • Candles should be placed at a safe distance from anything flammable, we recommend at least 3 feet
  • Check the labels on all outdoor decorations to ensure they were designed for outside use
  • Make sure that no decorations are in heavily trafficked areas in your home to avoid any slip and fall accidents
  • Throw away any light strings that have pinched or frayed cords
  • Use ladders carefully and properly, ideally with a person there to spot
  • Be extra careful while cooking, as kitchen fires are much more likely during the holiday season

Holiday cheer is contagious, so make sure that you are spreading these safety tips amongst your friends and family. In doing so, you will ensure that your loved ones are able to safely enjoy all that the holiday season has to offer. On behalf of SERVPRO, happy holidays to all!
